| Worthless leaders will not be allowed to hijack UNP, says Wajira |

(Lanka-e-News, September 29, 2008, 4.50 PM) Galle district United national Party (UNP) MP Wajira Abewardhana says that he will not allow ineffective leaders who cannot be an alternative to the present leader to capture the party leadership.
Mr. Abewardhana emphasized that he would not allow anyone to destroy the party leadership and to let the government to manipulate the UNP.
He made these observations at a function held in Sarana Reception Hall to hand over life insurance policies to the UNP local government representatives of Gampaha district.

Mr. Abewardhana charged that the persons who try to change the party leadership are becoming the pets of the government. He said that he would not allow them to destroy the party with the proposals brought from Temple Trees. Party enemies and the government have launched a massive campaign against the UNP manipulating all media and a group from UNP who are ignorant of this are shouting for a leadership change, added Mr. Abewardhana.
