A Muslim group bound mosque in Kathankudi attacked with a hand grenade; 21 injured
(Lanka-e-News, September 30, 2008, 12.15 PM) Twenty one persons including five children were injured yesterday (29) evening around 6.55 PM as an unknown person hailed a hand grenade at them at Kaththankudi bus stand.

The injured were admitted to Batticaloa hospital. Two of them are in critical condition, said the Media Center for National Security.
The injured persons were bound to a nearby mosque for evening prayers, said our Kathankudi reporter. A motorcycle parked near the mosque was caught in fire with the explosion.

The residents suspect LTTE or TMVP for carrying out this attack. A group suspected to carry out this attack abducted two Muslims from Pulmoddai recently and their bodies were later recovered from Niththavur.
