| Chief Justice orders P.B. to appear in court personally |

(Lanka-e-News, 30-Sep-2008, 11.00PM) Chief Justice Sarath N. Silva has ordered former Treasury Secretary P.B. Jayasundara to appear in Supreme Court personally and inform if he still in service in a state department, if he appears as a state official and if he holds any executive or administrative post.
Accordingly, Dr. P.B. Jayasundara has been summoned to Supreme Court on October 08.
Supreme Court issued this order considering a motion filed by Presidential Adviser Vasudewa Nanayakkara pertaining to a fundamental rights petition in which Dr. P.B. Jayasundara was sentenced to pay damage to the state and he was disqualified for public service.

He was proved guilty of corruption charges pertaining to privatizing a land owned by Ports Authority to John Keels Holdings. Dr. Jayasundara was the Chairman of the Public Enterprises Reform Commission by that time.
