(Lanka-e-News, October 30, 2008, 9.10 AM) Kurunegala district United National Party (UNP) MP Dayasiri Jayasekara says that when 100 soldiers are killed in battle, the bodies are sent in batches of ten each in deep freezers and the realty of war is hidden from the village folk.
At a press conference held in Colombo yesterday (29), MP Jayasekara said that the people have the right to know the truth of war that is waged with the tax money of the citizens.
He made these points commenting on the 10.40 PM Mannar aerial attack and 11.20 Kelanithissa power station attack Tuesday (28).
He questioned why the Sri Lanka Air Force that is equipped with state-of-the-art technology could not shoot down the LTTE's toy aircrafts in the seventh time too. He said that this proved the boasting of the government heads that they would not allow the south to be destabilized and said that the incident eroded the international image of the nation. |

Recalling the vows of the Air Force Commander not to allow the LTTE aircrafts to be airborne once more, the UNP MP said that suspicions could be raised regarding the air power of the Air Force. Pointing out that the UNP had exposed the details of the LTTE aircrafts in the parliament, MP Jayasekara asked why the LTTE crafts that were in air for two hours could not be attacked.
He urged the government to provide proper security to south instead of boasting about victories in this backdrop. |

He further questioned why the government was barring the right of the people to access to information.
