| Thileepan who sent satellite telephones to LTTE is in Tamil Nadu police arrest |

(Lanka-e-News, December 31, 2008, 6.55 PM) "The Hindu" newspaper reported that a 30 year old Sri Lankan Tamil who attempted to smuggle a stock of communication equipment to the LTTE was arested by Tamil Nadu police.

The youth named Thileepan had 30 satellite phones in his possession as he was arrested last night (30) in Chennai. He admitted that they were to be dispatched to LTTE. The suspect who is believed to be an ardent supporter of the LTTE has arrived in Chennai to hand over the stock of phones to a third party.
Police has revealed that the suspect who worked in a bakery in Switzerland after leaving Sri Lanka has arrived in India recently. The suspect has been remanded.
