| One person arrested under suspicion of Lasantha assassination |

(Lanka-e-News, January 31, 2009, 8.40 AM) Police media spokesman SSP Ranjith Gunasekara said to Lanka-e-News that a 22 year old youth was arrested last evening (30) in Aththidiya, Dehiwala following a subtle investigation.
The arrested person is a trishaw driver; He possessed the sim card of the mobile phone used by assassinated Sunday Leader editor Lasantha Wickramathunga. He has revealed that he received it from a person who is in remand now. He has been remanded on January 23 and the investigations are underway, said SSP Gunasekara. |
