| Civilians trap in Vanni due to unidentified instructions |

(Lanka-e-News Feb 28, 2009, 12.05pm) There are many possibilities of that an unidentified organizations or group of Tamil Diaspora would have created ideological frame work to LTTE for been keeping of civilians as hostages.

Minister stated he would be mentioning these facts in human right commission on next week that he is willing to participate. He also stated that Human Right Watch report on recent civilian casualties in base on falls facts which that most probably been taken from the pro LTTE sectors. Government is taking every possible steps to prevent civilians from war effected fatal incidents. Most of the civilian would have faced in casualties not from the government side but from the LTTE.

He said from 17 of this month up to now government had sent nearly 200 tons of food and medical items to displaced people in Vavuniya.
Lanka-e-News asked minister Samarasinghe regarding that artillery firing shown in government electronic media recently. News briefing held in last week minister stated heavy weapons not been using against the LTTE for preventing casualties of civilians.
Army spokesmen Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara told it was only a test fired carried out by the army personal and he added it was not targeting any one.
