| The last operation center of the LTTE with 15 container bunkers captured by Army |

(Lanka-e-News, March 30, 2009, 9.20 AM) State media announced that the Army 58 division captured the last operation center of the LTTE yesterday afternoon (29) following a fierce battle fought since last night in the last patch of land held by LTTE.
Army says that there were 15 bunkers that were constructed with the buried containers that were covered with logs and sand bags.

Army says that the LTTE leaders Banu and Theepan have led battles from this camp till they the LTTE withdrew to protect this camp. Finally they retreated to the no-fire zone. They have no time and strength spared to construct similar camps, says Army.
A doorway of a tunnel covered with hard metal was recovered and Army suspected weapons are stored in it. Search operations are still underway. |
