The Executive Secretary of National Christian Council arrested at the airport by TID
(Lanka-e-News, March 31, 2009, 5.15 PM) Shantha Fernando, the Executive Secretary of the National Christian Council was arrested by Terrorist Investigation Department (TID) at Katunayaka international airport as he was about to leave for a peace conference of South Asia on Saturday (28).

TID says that Fernando had pro-LTTE literature and a CD in his possession.
Mr. Fernando has been detained in TID headquarters at Chaithya Road, Colombo and he is being interrogated now.

Mr. Fernando acted as an activist that worked for the welfare of the displaced people. He is also a human rights activist.

in 1997... Mahinda, Prince & Vasu used to take all HR violations to international platforms and destroyed the image of Sri Lanka. Premadas could arrest them at the Airport and expose them to the people. He didnt do that because he belived in democratic rights of people. Mahinda ..destroyed the name of the country in 1987 by raising these internal issues in international forums and earned foreign exchange by doing that. Today he is arresting those people who repeat his performance. Is this fair? What right he has to do that? That way .. Premadasa was a god since he didnt earn money by selling these story in international forums and secndly he didnt arrest these traitors such as Mahinda , Prince & Vasu at at the airport
