| (Lanka-e-News 31.May.2009 5.30PM) Army troops continued their search and clear operations in the general areas of VELLAMULLIVAIKKAL, PUDUMATALAN and PUTHUKKUDIYIRIPPU during yesterday(30) and recovered eighty thousand (80000) 9 mm ammunition, thirty thousand nine hundred and ninety-two (30992) 0.38 mm ammunition, one hundred and two thousand and forty (102040) 5.50 ammunition and forty-two thousand (42000) non electric detonators, 120kg of C-4 high explosives, one claymore mine weighing about 5 kg, one 9 mm pistol, hundred and four T-56 weapons, six modified T-56 weapons, twenty-five I-com sets, two I-com base stations, one 152 mm artillery barrel, one 130 mm trail, two tripods, four T-81 weapons, one Light Machine Gun (LMG), six 40 mm grenade launchers, eight 12.7 weapon tripods, three Rocket Propelled Grenades (RPG) launchers, six unidentified weapons, four Multi Propose Machine Guns (MPMG), one 12.7 mm weapon, one sniper gun, five anti personnel mines, one thousand and five hundred (1500) 81 mm mortar fuses, twenty claymore cases, four Improvise Explosive Devises (IED), fifteen pressure mine cases, from those areas. |
