| (Lanka-e-News, June 3, 2009, 8.45 PM) Seventy-seven T-56 weapons, eight magazines, five hundred rounds of T-56 ammunition, eleven hand grenades, two belt orders, five claymore mines weighing about 5 kg each, one claymore mine weighing about 12 kg, 250 m wire, one remote control, twenty-four day-night Bino, one parcel of C-4 explosive weighing about 12 kg, one claymore mine weighing about 2.5 kg, one paddle gun, one 12.7 weapon, one Thermo Baric weapon, three Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG) launchers, one M-16 weapon, three Multi Propose Machine Guns (MPMG), four 40 mm grenade launchers, one FNC weapon, two MPMG tri-ports, six claymore mines of different sizes, two MPMG ammunition boxes, forty-two hand grenades, three 81mm mortars, one thousand MPMG rounds and two pouches were the latest to recover from Asikulam, Visuamadu, Putumattalan, Vellamullivaikkal and Mullaittivu areas during Tuesday (2) as the troops further intensified their search and clear operations. |

Meanwhile, troops conducting search operations in the EAST found twenty hand grenades, one hundred and nine T-56 ammunition rounds, fifty boxes of 7.62 ammunition, 16 kg of explosives, six Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG) rounds and eight RPG chargers from the general areas of Pattialpuram and Puchene, the same day (2). |
