Lanka-e-News exceeds 100 million mark !
(Lanka-e-News, Sep.29, 2009, 7.55PM) The Lanka e news is proud to announce that the website which was launched in the year 2005 has until some moments ago had reached the 100 million mark in the number of those computers accessing our website.

Lanka e news which gave a new dimension to the international news scene, has also provided accurate Sinhala news. Lanka-e-news is the first Sinhala website which disseminated news to the international arena. Because we allowed the public to down load the Sinhala font for free, the Sinhala website coverage spread to the world speedily.

SL President’s official website also has used the same font. Doesn’t this imply that this is the best font which facilitates the users.?
Lanka e news before it was linked to the international chain, it was linked to a daily international news paper. Though this provided international news, to obtain the services others had to make payment..

Lanka e news reaching beyond these frontiers, gave a service free of charge whereby the other media too followed it. We therefore were successful in paving the way for the other media to follow us.

It is significant to note that Lanka-e-news is the only website in SL with an international chain providing news in Sinhala, English, and Tamil languages.
According to the International Alexa, as of today, going by the number of viewers of the websites in SL, Alexa describes Lanka-e-news as occupying the first place in SL. Those ahead of us are Google, U tube, Face Book. Among them Lanka-e-news is in the 12th position. Our position is 10, 903 when considered with the millions of websites in the whole world. Nearly three to four lakhs all over the world are viewers of our website. Of them 82 % are local viewers. There are also nearly 12 million hits per day!

It is best we do not reveal all what we have achieved, done and said, as it is not media etiquette.

We wish to express our profuse and profound gratitude to all those who helped us to come this far and reach the ladder of success in so short a time. Specially our thanks goes to the viewers, Media colleagues, advertisers and technology support personnel.
