(Lanka-e-News, Oct.31, 2009, 7.15PM) The President Mahinda Rajapaksa arrived at the famous hill shrine of Lord Venkateswara here on Saturday evening along with his wife Shiranthi Rajapaksa and an eighty member official delegation.
The President, who was on a two day visit to Nepal, flew in to Tirupathi this afternoon in a special Sri Lankan aircraft from Kathmandu.
On his arrival at the Padmavathi guest house here, he was accorded a warm reception by officials of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) and the district administration. Prominent among them were TTD Chairman D.K. Adikesavulu, Executive officer I.Y. R Krishna Rao, District collector V. Seshadri and Superintendent of Police Laxmi Reddy. |

The President stayed at the guest house for a brief while before proceeding towards the temple complex for darshan. |
