| Govt. hooligans attack JVP ers engaged in General’s election propaganda at several places |

(Lanka-e-News, Nov.30, 2009, 8.30PM) Govt. hooligans and marauders have started their violence even before the nominations for Presidential elections has been completed. These thugs have attacked JVP supporters and their Offices.
The JVP charges that as they are spearheading the election campaign of Gen. Fonseka who is the common Presidential Candidate, the Govt. has engaged hooligans to attack them.
The JVP media unit stated that, when the JVP supporters were busy with propaganda work in connection with the rally today (30) at Hyde Park, they were attacked at Aturugiriya at about 5.00 a.m. by about five individuals who came in a blue Lorry No. L.C. 2914. One of the victims of the assault is admitted to the Aturugiriya Hospital. |

A complaint has been lodged with the Aturugirya Police ragrding this attack.
The JVP media unit stated that yesterday night (29), a group of Govt. thugs attacked a JVP office in Anuradhapura, and destroyed all the cutouts and posters regarding today’s meeting pasted in Anuradhapura. These thugs have come in a Defender Vehicle NO. 9417.
Further, when former Welimada PC MP Anura Karunaratne of the JVP was pasting posters at Welimada Town in connection with General Fonseka’s election campaign, he had been arrested by the Police at about 2.30 a.m. |
