| Monies in 7 accounts of Dhanuna who is absconding confiscated |

(Lanka-e-News 02.July.2010 9.20 AM) Colombo Fort Additional District Court Judge Lanka Jayaratne ordered the confiscation of the funds amounting to Rs. 1,50,74910/- and US Dollars 1251/- in the 7 Bank accounts of Dhanuna who is absconding Court over the alleged Hi Corp fraud in connection with a tender to supply equipments to the Army,in which case he is named the second suspect.
Dhanuna who is the son in law of Gen. Sarath Fonseka has been issued a warrant for absconding Court.
The Judge made this order after considering the request in the complaint made by the CID that Dhanuna has acted in violation of S 60 of the criminal procedure code by his absconding from Court.
In accordance with S 61 (6) of the criminal procedure code 1979 (15), the Judge ordered that the funds in his accounts so confiscated shall be frozen by the Justice Ministry .

The judge also issued a prohibition order to the Manager of the Bank where the accounts are maintained that these funds shall not be released to the account holder or any other without Court approval.
