(Lanka-e-News, July 02, 2010, 12.25PM) It is reported that some MPs who had been allocated official Bungalows by the Govt. at the Madiwela Housing complex have been rented out by them to outsiders, and chunks of money collected.
This Housing complex is for MPs who are from outstations, and for them to stay when they come to Colombo. |

As most of these MPs have permanent residences in Colombo, it is learnt that they have given their official houses at the complex to outsiders and made this a source of income.
Anura Kumara Dissanayake of the JVP stated, the Govt. is getting ready to provide houses under its housing scheme project to the workers in the Parliament opposite the Madiwela housing complex and to MPs.
