Wimal’s actions had disgraced the country –High Commissioners of 8 countries issue joint statement
(Lanka-e-News 10.July.2010 6.25PM) A joint statement issued by the UK, France, Germany, Italy, European Commission and some High Commissioners in SL declared that a Minister of the Govt. taking part in obstructing the UN office and harassing its staff is beneath the accepted standards of dignity and decency unbecoming of a Minister and violating the ethical code and practices.

This conduct has tarnished the image of the country , the joint statement added.

While regretting the disgraceful episode which occurred near the UN office, the High Commissioners are to meet the Foreign Minister Dr. G L Peiris on the 12th to discuss this matter.
These High Commissioners however acknowledged that Democracy permits holding peaceful demonstrations . They urged the SL Govt . to beef up the security of the officers of the UN office.

This request was made in a joint statement issued by the High Commissioners of UK,France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Netherlands, Romania,Norway, and European Union.

Hei Dava if you think like that we will never get any solution. this is my motherland too but we can not get any thing from the international community like kid get something from his mother. dont be stupid, even WW died they will dont change their things. I think we can do one thing doing every things with Chinese then we will not get such a problem but it will never work out because Chinese want to develop them self and they also wanna take their prisoners to Sri Lanka and give some money to them also. try to understand man dont think as stupid Sri Lankan

No country could live in isolation,must respect the international conventions and rules that are there to safeguard us.MPs like WE should not be allowed to rubbish that.

Mr. Upul. Just don't talk off your hat. Surely international diplomacy does not work like when you have a quarrel at home. By these stupid comments just don't bring in ill fame on the mother land.
