It is absolutely essential that the implementation of the 17th Amendment to the Constitution be included in these discussions. This introduced checks and balances and accountability of the Executive Presidency. It stopped the politicisation of the Public Service, Police and the Judiciary and ensured that suitable persons are appointed to key positions - not cronies of politicians. It is part of the Constitution and was passed in Parliament by 224 votes to 1. All it needs is for the Prime Minister, Leader of the Opposition to get together, consult relevant parties and nominate members of the Constitutional Council through the Speaker and for the Executive President to appoint them. This measure alone will ensure that GSP+ will be restored safeguarding thousands of jobs.

This will never happen. If democracy is restored through the constitution by making the PM responsible to the parliment, how is MR going to defend his criminal supporters? Just forget it and dont waste your time.
