| Investigation into seduction of a young girl by an Appeal Court judge suppressed |

(Lanka-e-News 17.July.2010 11.55PM) Investigations into the alleged seduction of a 20 year old servant girl working in the house of an Appeal Court judge has been suppressed because of pressure from the top, it is reported.
The victim is a resident of Santhipura District , Nuwara Eliya.
This victim has complained to the Galkissa Police that she was seduced by ‘ Sarath Mahathaya’
The police has then handed over the girl to the custody of the children and women’s division , Thereafter this Division has kept her in safe custody until now at the Salvation Army center in the vicinity of the General Hospital.
Although a Police officer of the children and women’s division had conducted inquiries into this matter , the investigations has been later entrusted to Police OIC Balachandra who is under the division of Police Authority Muthu Bandara.. |

Balachandra had not however forwarded the medical report to the Court issued by the Hospital to which the girl was admitted . Neither has he reported to the Court of the wrong committed on the girl .
Meanwhile , the victim’s brother has made a complaint to the Nuwara Eliya Police that his sister is being forcibly kept back in the Judge’s residence . Subsequently , the wife of the judge and friends have brought the youth to Colombo and paid Rs. 50,000/ - after taking his signature on a letter , reports say.
