(Lanka-e-News 18.July.2010 7.15PM) According to UN Organization reports , another group of 8 persons had been appointed under the leadership of Jessica Nivvarath of South Africa to extend support to the three member Committee that was appointed to advise UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon in regard to the alleged war crimes in SL during the period of the war.
Jessica Nivvarath , the chief of this 8 member group has been functioning for a long period as a human rights officer at the UN Organization. She is also a friend of African National Navaneetham Pillai , the UN human rights Commissioner .
Pillai has been well noted for leveling scathing criticisms openly against SL on human rights violations and had made adverse comments. She was one of those who led in the campaign that war crimes were committed in SL. |

Speculations are rife in the political circles that the appointment of such a person to head the group that is to support the investigations is a preliminary step to prove that war crimes indeed were committed in SL. |
