| CJ intervenes to ward off suppression of investigation into molestation charges against judge ‘Sarath mahathaya’ |

(Lanka-e-News, July 21, 2010, 11.30 PM) It is reported that the Chief Justice (CJ) has ordered the CID to investigate whether the servant girl who was working in the house of the Appeal Court judge had been indeed molested by the Appeal Court judge as alleged, amidst accusations against the Police that the latter is trying to suppress inquiries.
After the media highlighted that via cash payments and pressure from the top, attempts are being made to suppress this case, the CJ had intervened and given these instructions.
Currently, the investigations in this case is being conducted by the children and women’s affairs office. |
