(Lanka-e-News -15.March.2016, 11.30PM) The Island wide power failure is something unusual , and complaint has been lodged with the police . The president has also ensured that the security forces be deployed at all power generating sub stations , said , Ranjith Siyambalapitiya , the minister of electricity , power and energy .
The country will have to face some hardships for a few days because of the collapse of the Norochcholai power plant following the breakdown at the Biyagama power distribution resulting in the national grid experiencing a shortfall of 900 megawatts power supply , the minister explained.
The minister made this revelation when he was on a tour to inspect the Biyagama Receiving station this morning (14) accompanied by deputy minister Ajith P.Perera, General Manager of the CEB , and ministry secretary
