(Lanka-e-News- 12.Nov.2014, 3.30PM) A University student who was undergoing military training at the Kaleththewa military camp had during the training on November 8 th fallen down and become disabled . The student , T .K.D .R . Kaushalya Vijithalal is now receiving medical treatment at the Anuradhapura general hospital after falling down when trying to jump over a 7 feet high wall . Owing to the damage caused to the spine , he is now disabled.
According to the Doctors , his spinal cord has been fractured .
Meanwhile owing to the compulsory training that is being given by force to the University students currently , another University student of the Ganthoruwa , Kandy military camp fell victim to sexual abuse at the hands of a soldier . However ,this incident was suppressed by the government .
This military training is being forcibly given to these students amidst the objections and opposition mounted by the parents of the students and their lecturers . It is being conducted most irresponsibly without any concern for the lives of the students , in order to serve atrocious political agendas.
So far two University students have died , and it has also claimed the life of a school principal due to this forcibly conducted training. The training being continued unrelentingly despite several students becoming disabled patients , and falling prey to sexual abuses is to achieve the political objectives of the government to infiltrate the Universities with its informants, and none else , reliable sources reveal.
