(Lanka-e-News -04.April.2016, 11.45PM) Dr. G.L Peiris the Dr.’ Know it all’ who made boorish statements in regard to the suicide kit, explosives and bombs that were discovered at Chavakachcheri had wholesale betrayed his sidekicks cum cronies when he was interrogated by the CID , based on sources within the CID.
This Dr. De Boor convening a media briefing no sooner than the discovery was made and even before the media had given publicity announced , the suicide kit and the explosives were to be transported to Wellawatte , and the government is revealing the detection after reducing the actual quantity.
When the CID recorded a statement of Dr. Peiris in this connection, he disclosed that it was Dinesh Gunawardena who instructed him to say so , while adding that it was Dinesh who was to attend the media briefing , but because he could not , he (Dr. Peiris) attended the briefing, and that he knew nothing at all about this suicide kit and bombs. Dr. Peiris in his confession had stated it was Dinesh Gunawardena who instructed him to make such a statement , and because he was a former minister , Peiris assumed Dinesh would not lie .It is why he revealed at the media briefing what details that were related to him by Dinesh, Peiris stated in his confession.
Dr. Peiris told the CID in his confession , Dinesh revealed with details that those explosives and kit were in the ready to be transported to Wellawatte , and since Wimal Weerawansa had also related a similar story he had no cause to doubt him.
Dr. De Boor after betraying his cronies and sidekicks this way while within the CID , began making heroic statements to the media when he came out. He said , he was questioned with a view to persecute those who express views against the government.
Meanwhile , even before five minutes have elapsed following the detection , Namal Rajapakse leaving a message in the twitter in this connection is suspicion rousing. This detection of a suicide kit and bombs being not something ordinary , it is being suspected that Namal had foreknowledge of it. In the circumstances , it is the consensus that Namal shall be questioned.
Irrespective of the TID investigations pertaining to this discovery , greater faith can be reposed in the investigations that are being conducted by the CID , because after the conclusion of the war , the TID during the past has not been an active Institution.
