(Lanka-e-News- 16.May.2016, 11.30PM) The extreme inclement weather conditions that prevailed over the whole of Sri Lanka (SL) on the 15 th, could not be forecast duly by the Meteorological department best noted for its worst negligence , neglect and inefficiency ! Though the torrential rains were anticipated ,adequate and proper notification ahead of it was not given by the Meteorological department of SL . Even at 5.30 in the morning of 15 th , it was only announced that a depression was heading towards SL, whereas even a ‘blind’ man could have at that time noticed that dark clouds have enveloped the country already (based on the satellite pictures).
Moreover at 5.30 a.m. the Met. Department only said , according to its weather forecasts there would be showers with or without thunder and lightning in some areas.. It did not state there would be heavy showers (copy of that notification is herein) Island wide . Thereafter when there were torrential rains Island wide , the Met department issued a most deadly horror inspiring notice at 11.00 a.m of grave imminent danger to the nation following the rain.
Of what purpose is a Met. Department to a country which could not forecast torrential rain ahead at 5.30 a.m. ? Being a department abounding with crippled , paralytic and moronic officials , it issued a notice only six hours later when the whole county was already being lashed ruthlessly with rains and floods and was in the grip of a national holocaust .
Indeed wasting public funds to maintain such a Met. Department of ‘Mattayas’ (stupid idiots) is an unpardonable crime committed on the public who are fully depending on it .It is a shame to reveal , it is a department where there are so called scientific experts who cannot type a Sinhala word properly. This was clearly borne testimony to by the contents of the notification (herein). The content is so full of errors that it is not comprehensible. Of what use are so called scientists who do not know even their mother tongue?
If these are our so called scientists who do not know their mother tongue , the subject they are in charge of , and who cannot give an observatory forecast duly , it is best they are sent to do cultivation instead ,to go behind the buffaloes doing the ploughing , for these two legged buffaloes would learn better perhaps when they go behind original buffaloes and are led by the latter.
Since such reckless lapses on the part of the Met. Department portend grave danger to the country and the people , it will be better if this task is entrusted to India if our own scientists are unable to do better than placing the country in jeopardy at the crucial hour when they should stand by the country.
It is high time the people think on the lines , why these so called moronic idiots who call themselves as ‘scientists’ be paid a monthly salary , pension until their death, and issued duty free vehicle permits out of public funds , when these are the ‘scientists’ who through their ignorance , idiocy and incompetence plunging the people wantonly into death and abysmal despair when their task is exclusively to save the country from the impending natural disasters by making right forecasts .

Even the lady astrologer of the Mawbima news paper predicted the event in the sunday newspaper out on saturday. put her in charge of these buffoons at the met department who have there heads up their rear end most of the time.
