-Rajapakse parliamentarians constitute the worthless appendix
(Lanka-e-News- 17.May.2016, 7.45PM) Former minister Mervyn De Silva who convened a media briefing under the banner of ‘joint opposition’ today said , the group that had entered parliament under the betel leaf symbol of UPFA under the leadership of Maithripala Sirisena has no legal right to call themselves as of the joint opposition. That right belongs to him alone , Mervyn pointed out when addressing the media briefing.
While the UNP and UPFA are functioning in parliament as a government based on an agreement , the group which is appearing on behalf of rogues and the corrupt must be identified as UP (Unduka Puchchaya) , Mervyn Silva noted.
The impurities of the body get collected in this UP (appendix) which is of no use and serves no purpose . Hence ridding the body of this part is beneficial to the system , doctors say. This group of rogues and the corrupt is akin to the UP which is a receptacle for impurities in parliament, Mervyn pointed out.
The true joint opposition is his , and it has been inaugurated by him as its convener .This is an organization launched to comply with the requests of the people who want the rogues and the corrupt be brought before the law and punished. This will be the only opposition party of the people that will compel the government to solve the issues of the masses , Mervyn Silva assured, while adding the corrupt and thieving group in parliament is appearing on behalf of the Rajapakse family only , and not on behalf of the people and their needs . Mervyn also went on to reveal , nobody knows about the inside out of the Rajapakse family as he .
Mervyn Silva also made several controversial comments: He said , in the past he broke into the Rupavahini Corporation on the instructions of Mahinda Rajapakse .Mahinda after telling him to visit Rupavahini to inquire about the incident that took place when the Matara Mahanama bridge was inaugurated , the same Mahinda at the same time told the Rupavahini staff , ‘there comes Mervyn to assault you’ thereby provoking the employees.
When a journalist questioned Mervyn on this allegation again , Marvyn replied ,’ why the devil should I go to Rapavahini without Mahinda asking me to do so ?’
Making another startling exposure , he said , using the murderers of Wambotta , Mahinda Rajapakse was trying to kill him , but he managed to save his life by a hair’s breadth. His family members were murdered because of Rajapakses , and he too was taken into custody on charges that he is a naxalite , Mervyn lamented while washing the dirty linen of the Rajapakses. At this juncture we are reminded of the so many who were sniffing the loin cloths of the Rajapakses no matter the stench when the latter were holding sway .
Mervyn also announced he will be carrying on his political campaign throughout the country under ‘joint opposition’
