President chose 20th Nov. the world latrines day to make elections proclamation ( date changed later) because of its stench and squalor- JVP Anura

(Lanka-e-news- 20.Nov.2014, 11.55PM) JVP leader Anura Dissanayake addressing a massive rally at Price park on the 19 th said , the UN organization declared 20 th of November as the world latrines day , and it was that day , Sri Lanka ‘s (SL) President Mahinda Rajapakse chose to make his proclamation regarding the Presidential elections. It is the President of SL who knows best about stench and squalor surrounding the unlawful Presidential elections , and therefore chose that day to make the proclamation ,he added.

The people’s campaign for Democracy that is being headed by the JHU holding the view that Mahinda cannot seek a third Presidential term, and such an unlawful election is uncalled for and necessary , held a rally at Price park , Colombo on the 18 th attended by milling crowds, preceded by a huge protest march .

Addressing the rally , Dissanayake said, because of the unexpectedly large crowds that participated in the protest march and thronged the venue of the rally, vehicular movements were brought to a standstill, causing severe traffic congestion for hours across the whole of the city .

Athureliya Rathana Thera , JVP leader Anura Dissanayake , Arjuna Ranatunge M.P., Vijitha Herath , popular film director Dr. Dharmasena Pathiraja, President of the University academics federation Chandragupta Thenuwara , chief editor of Ravaya K.W. Janaranjana , President of SL media professionals association Ms. Mandana Abeywickrema , lawyers Namal Rajapakse , Sunil Watagala , Upul Kumaraperuma, and Literati Viyangoda were all on this common platform.
