(Lanka-e-News- 25.Nov.2014, 11.25AM) Mawatagama local body chairman Upul Perera has led a gang of goons and attacked with iron clubs the motorcade in which Wayambe provincial council opposition leader C. Alawathuwala was travelling after expressing his pleasure at the news that Maithripala Sirisena has been appointed as the opposition common candidate last Friday .The attack was launched at Mawathagama. The photograph herein shows Upul Perera threatening the Rivira newspaper photographer with an iron club.
The video footages and photographs on the day of violence had clearly borne out that Upul Perera who led the attack with UPFA supporters created mayhem for over two hours at Mawathagama town disturbing the peace of the people and had gone on a rampage of violence.
The behavior of the police who watched the mayhem as idle spectators ,as though enjoying a cricket match is most deplorable and despicable. Besides, as usual under the lawless reign , the police had not taken any action against any of these culprits so far despite ample palpable evidence against them .
CAFFE organization had today forwarded the evidence testifying to these brutalities and criminal activities done with complete impunity to the IGP and Elections commissioner.

These are the absolute criminals promoted, supported, nurtured as politicos governing the country. Just like the Hambantota gun carrying mayor, the Tangalle killer, u and down the country criminals are governing right from the top. Police is paralysed by them and actually part of them. This is the shame of the country and this is the reason clan has to go !!!
