(Lanka-e-News -11.Sep.2016, 11.55PM) Duminda Silva who was sentenced to death over the murder of four persons including Bharatha Lakshman , and is now remanded (death row) at ward B3 of the prison is to be provided with ‘paying ward merriment’ at the Colombo General hospital based on a conspiracy , according to reports reaching Lanka e news.
It is an indisputable fact that the government of good governance lost its faith among the people during the recent past because the crooked and corrupt Rajapakses when remanded were allowed to enjoy mirth and merriment ( unlike other prisoners) by getting themselves admitted to the paying ward .
It was therefore the view of the general public that even after Rajapakses who wrought worst disasters on the country have been proved beyond doubt as worst crooks and criminals , yet they are being pampered even when remanded.
However with Duminda Silva being sentenced to death , the people began to repose faith in the judiciary, and their misgivings have somewhat ebbed away .
No matter what , despite Hirunika ‘s emotionally charged statement ‘in any case we must be happy that death sentence was passed on the murderers’ made on the 8 th , some villainous rascals within the government are moving heaven and earth to convert the incarceration of the ruthless murderer Duminda into a ‘paying ward jollity.’
Since a murderer who has been sentenced to death and now in remand custody (death row), feigning sickness and getting hospitalized is a most difficult task ordinarily , Duminda the murderer is now in jail. Yet by trying to show even he too received gunshot injuries to his head, and bribing of course , moves are ahead to place him in a ‘pleasurable paying ward’ instead of placing him in custody.
It cannot be forgotten Duminda who was an accused in a quadruple murder created a world record by not being in remand custody even for a single day ! Thanks to shameless judges with ignominious records like those in Sri Lanka . It is owing to them murderers like Duminda could create such records.
It is a pity that the hearts of these unscrupulous self seeking opportunistic politicos are melting in favor of a heroin peddler cum brutal murderer ,when they should instead feel ashamed of themselves for pitying such a rascal who not only ruined the younger generation but even deflowered under-aged girls .
Lanka e news is in the ready to expose all the details including the names and background of these scoundrels and rascals irrespective of their status or positions who are indulging in these sordid ‘games.’ It is also the duty of the people and civil organizations to intervene and halt these villainies and corrupt activities.
