(Lanka-e-News -17.Oct.2016, 11.55PM) Thiru Kumar Nadesan who invested the illicit earnings (black money ) of ex minister Basil Rajapakse in his name was arrested by the FCID and produced before Pugoda court today.
It is a well and widely known indisputable fact Basil the notorious ace rogue of the Blue brigand throughout his period as minister was plundering and pillaging national assets and public funds without let or hindrance under his own brother Mahinda Rajapakse’s lawless corrupt reign . Basil however denied ownership title to his Malwana Mansion , another robbed public property which was ‘court production’ in the case filed against him. In any event when the public monies spent for the construction of the mansion was probed into by the FCID , Thiru Kumar Nadesan the accomplice was also taken into custody today .
The 16 acre land with the mansion situated at Mapitigama (River bank) , Malwana , was in the name of Thiru Nadesan .It was revealed that Thiru Nadesan bought this property on 21010-11-25 from the three daughters of Doctor Senadheera Appuhamilage Senadheera for Rs. sixty four million (Rs.64,000,000 ! ) ,but how the payment was received could not be proved because those were hidden ‘black monies’ of Basil Rajapakse. Accordingly , the FCID informed court that a case is being filed against Thiru Nadesan.
The Pugoda Magistrate D.A. Ruwanpthairane after taking into consideration the fact that Basil has been enlarged on bail and it does not pertain to public property , granted bail to Thiru Nadesan. He was released on a cash bail of Rs. 50,000.00 and two surety bails in a sum of Rs 1 million each. Nadesan ‘s foreign travel too was banned.
Recently , an order was given by court to auction this Malwana property with the mansion because there was nobody claiming ownership, and therefore to include the sale proceeds as ‘court production,’ until the trial was over , but that did not mean Basil is exonerated of the charges just because he disclaimed title to it.
