‘Aawa’ group was originated by Gota and a major general –Rajitha reveals (video)

(Lanka-e-News -06.Nov.2016, 8.25PM) The ‘Aawa’ group was commenced by a major General and provided with weapons , cash and motorbikes with the knowledge and consent of ex defense secretary Gotabaya Rajapakse, cabinet spokesman  and minister Rajitha Senaratne revealed when addressing a Press briefing  Thursday.

The ‘Aawa’ group that was started by them at that time is still in operation and creating uncalled for and unnecessary unrest  in the North. The last government that commenced  this group by feeding and fattening them , is seeking to cash in on the unnecessary issues and disputes created by them now to achieve  abominable  political mileage , Rajitha bemoaned.

He  is asking the espionage services to launch an investigation into these , the minister urged.  Although under the last government those groups  received support and patronage  , this government on the other hand has initiated action to eradicate  this group .Hence as no support is being extended by  this government , the information is seeping out ,  the minister exhorted.

Journalist :
Although you say , the ‘Aawa’ group was launched by ex defense secretary , the present defense secretary had stated , the groups of youths in the North who see films turn over enthusiastic, and owing to that these incidents are taking place

Minister :
Based on the reasons now adduced by me, you know what has happened . So , the media must go to him and enlighten on how the ‘Aawa’ group originated.

Journalist :
Yet , isn’t your exposing these secrets going to pose a threat to the State security ?

Minister :
How can that be ?  It is our aim and agenda to expose this group and as quickly as possible control it.

Tamils know that the previous GoSL was actively involved in the disturbances in the T mail areas but also through out the country. As the Military Intelligence officers were not changed with new GoSL, the disturbances continues.
