(Lanka-e-News- 25.Feb.2017, 11.30PM) A bipartisan delegation from the U.S. House of Representatives, led by the Chair of the House Judiciary Committee, Rep. Bob Goodlatte, together with the US Ambassador to Sri Lanka, H. E. Atul Keshap, held discussions with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mangala Samaraweera, yesterday, 24 February 2017, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The discussions focused on issues of mutual interest.
The bipartisan delegation from the U.S. House of Representatives arrived in Sri Lanka as part of the House Democracy Partnership (HDP). The HDP is a bipartisan, twenty-member commission of the U.S. House of Representatives that works directly with partner countries around the world to support the development of effective, independent, and responsive legislative institutions
