Following this written directive , the division chiefs have granted permission only to a selected number of officers in the list of names who are pro MaRa and closely associated with the Rajapakse regime.

A producer of an important division had asked from the chief of that division whether this means that ‘we should not come to work from tomorrow ?’ The answer given was in the affirmative.

Meanwhile, based on unofficial information reaching Lanka e news over a hundred members of the security forces and army Buffel vehicles have been dispatched to the Rupavahini premises .

Some time ago , a group of army officers were summoned to the SLTTI Rupavahini training Institute and given training in Rupavahini operational tasks . May we recall that Lanka e news some months ago reported that army officers were being trained even to give answers when questioned by journalists at media meetings

Whilst talking about the time period just before the elections, why not also talk about the current situation prevailing in media and other govt. institutions? Aren't there a many unwanted and unqualified young ladies and gentlemen who hold high places in office, depriving those who can and are qualified to attend to the said work, in various departments. No wonder our university students can't get jobs, thanks to those who basically hog on to positions they simply cannot carry out under any circumstances. They all are policiat appointees, children and relations of various Members of Parliament, Ministers and even the kith and kin of the chairmen themselves. They're still there, whilst all those who were in the diplomatic co were unceremoniously hauled back to Colombo. I personally know of one young lady, who, simply because she was the daughter of the chairman of the Film Corporation, was handed over the place of being a producer/presenter of a program on our national TV station, and was told she has to be the 'producer' of one segment of the day, one day of the week. The rest of the five days, she signs in, then as and when she wants, goes shopping to the conveniently opened Independence Arcade or attends classes held by private education institutions whereby, she can further her education to obtain better qualification. Nothing mind you, pertaining to media, but Business Administration. Well, she's paid for the entire month, does her grocery shopping at Arpico in the Rupavahini vehicles, which I've seen to my own eyes, and is a one happy lady. To think there are plenty of such kind, earning and getting a pension, doing nothing, paid exorbitant salaries, after all, she comes under the producer of program category, while there's someone who's far more able awaiting in the shadows in frustration, watching on. Why doesn't this govt think of combing out the undesirables from the state sector as well. Trust me, we'd find plenty of jobs for our sarasaviya students, who richly deserve the job oppotunities offered to them.
