(Lanka-e-News -15.Feb.2015, 11.30P) The SLFP working committee convened yesterday(14) at ‘apey gama’ vicinity at Battaramulla , and its main objective was to appoint a committee comprising new members based on the needs of President Maithripala Sirisena. Accordingly , Basil Rajapakse and Dallas Alahaperuma were replaced by Susil Premachandra as national organizer and S.B. Nawinna as treasurer respectively. Rajitha Seneviratne was appointed as the vice president displacing Karuna Amman which post was held by the latter earlier.
Anura Piyadharshana Yapa who acquitted himself well as a stooge and lickspittle of Mahinda Rajapakse during the Presidential elections period being elected again as the general secretary is specially noteworthy, while Susil and Anura who chased away the former CJ Shiranee Bandaranaike being given important positions are an index that the SLFP is still treading the same old hackneyed rejected path .
Rajitha , Gunawardena and Duminda Dissanayake who came out with Maithri in the first round itself even risking their lives secured only ‘second row ’ posts. Treating Rajitha and Gunawardena in the same way as Dallas Alahaperuma is most ridiculous and ludicrous. The number of members of the central executive committee that was 23 was raised to 25.
To Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunge who said she does not want a post as that of Mahinda Rajapakse being given such an appointment is specially noteworthy. The former Presidents and former Prime ministers who are the party patrons , and party senior members Alavi Moulana and Professor Vishwa Warnapola also secured posts.
At the last Presidential elections , it was Chandrika who was in the frontline canvassing for Maithripala Sirisena as the common opposition candidate at the last Presidential elections. It is well to recall even when it was proposed that if opposition leader Ranil Wickremesinghe is not going to be the presidential candidate , it should be Chandrika who should take up that candidacy , she rejected that move saying she will not contest as President again ,and that opportunity shall be afforded to Maithripala.
At the initial internal discussions too she said , even after victory at elections or thereafter she did not desire any post . All what she wanted was an SLFP leadership that would extricate the SLFP from the evil MaRa contagion , and restore the party to its former status. Maithripala Sirisena too at his media briefings after his election as President said repeatedly ,he will become a neutral ‘party’ without party hues , and not an SLFP leader.
Yet , after becoming the president with the direct support of a majority of the SLFP, a large support of the UNP, the Democratic party , JHU , TNA, Muslim Congress, Samastha Muslim congress and 49 organizations , he took over the leadership of the SLFP.
What post Chandrika Bandaranaike during a television discussion rejected publicly was given her. She is so disillusioned and dismayed now that she has decided to leave the country in disgust , according to LeN inside information service.

When the provincial council representatives met following conclusion of the executive committee meeting , a pro Mahinda Rajapakse group of the provincial councils Island wide castigating the executive committee decisions created a commotion unleashing their fury. Their conduct bore testimony to the fact that they are still hell bent on bringing back the corrupt discarded Mahinda Rajapakse defeated on the votes of the people again ,because they are apparently throttled by the Rajapakse deadly ropes they had swallowed so long , and hence unable to rescue themselves without Rajapakse intervention.
