Ex army commander Daya Ratnayake without handing over official residence throwing parties in it at army’s expense

(Lanka-e-News- 29.March.2015, 5.00PM)  The former army commander Daya Ratnayake who retired recently has still not handed back his official residence ‘duty house’, and is treating it as his private asset , according to reports reaching Lanka e news inside  information division.

Ratnayake instead of  quitting the official residence and handing over to the new army commander is throwing parties in that house twice a week , and sending the bills for payment to the army.  The birthday of Ratnayake ‘s son was celebrated at the ‘duty house’ recently , and two days later , a party of a friend of his son was held in the official residence .

The illegal expenses of these sumptuous parties held on several days weekly being borne by the army even after the retirement of the ex army commander had plunged the army into a grave predicament.

Daya Ratnayake became notorious as an army commander who even after Mahinda Rajapakse was defeated democratically on people’s votes at the presidential elections ,conspired to enlist the  forces to cling on to power illegally , but afterwards in fear of a people’s uprising against it  , abandoned his dastardly and shameless moves. He also became infamously famous as the army commander who stooped to the lowliest levels of bootlicking the Rajapakses doing all their  sordid political biddings . He is one who unashamedly resorted to all the official misconduct while wearing the uniform ,outrageously  acting  in breach of the army’s disciplinary code.

Truly speaking , going by Ratnayake’s putrid record and antecedence , if the laws are duly  enforced he should be behind bars  facing punishment delivered by the military court on many charges . Unfortunately because of the delays in the government of good governance , this scoundrel is once again plotting conjointly with the Medamulana Buffaloes and crocodiles who plunged the country into an irretrievable abysmal mess on an unprecedented scale.
