(Lanka-e-News- 16.April.2015, 11.30PM) President Maithripala Sirisena assured Prime minister (PM) Ranil Wickremesinghe that he would somehow get the support of the SLFP to secure the 2/ 3 rd majority to pass the 19 th amendment to be tabled in Parliament on the 20th , according to reports reaching Lanka e news. It is noteworthy that the SLFP is a part of the national government ,and its members have secured ministerial posts under it.
Meanwhile , the SLFP Is also hastily getting ready with the 20 th amendment relating to the electoral reforms. 165 seats under the bargaining system , 60 seats under the proportional representation system ,25 seats under the national list making up a total number of 250 seats are proposed under the new electoral system. While the 19 th amendment is being tabled the 20 th amendment is also to be presented in parliament , Minister S B Dissanayake told another electronic media lastday .
Opinion of the Elections commissioner …
The Elections commissioner submitted a comprehensive at the last party leaders’ meeting regarding the new electoral system .However ,Ven Athureliya Rathane Thera of the JHU , and UPFA national list M.P.Rajiva Wijesinghe who is not its joint member , and represents Liberal party as its party leader at meetings of party leaders objected to it .
At the conclusion of the meeting , the elections commissioner addressing the P.M. said ,the president , P.M. and opposition leader shall hold discussions and arrive at a definite decision. The leaders of minority parties who have raised baseless, useless and unscientific proposals , are against arriving at a decision , the Elections commissioner pointed out.
It is the view of the elections commissioner that the changes to the electoral system of a country cannot be rushed through. In a Democratic country to introduce a new electoral system among the people , at least a year is needed . Moreover even to educate the officers of his department at least six months is necessary, he added.
Racism of morons and maniacs in the AG’s department militating against the best interests of the masses.
It is learnt that the government is expecting to bring forth a number of proposals at the select committee which are not contradictory to the opinion expressed by the SC on the 19 th amendment, nevertheless the AG’s department is in the process of obstructing them .
Unfortunately , the present AG Yuvanjana Wasandura Wijetileke is an individual who has no understanding of the constitutional laws. Consequently , he has to rely on others in the AG’s department , and has chosen deputy solicitor general Indika Demuni and MerinPulle of the department to assist him. Sadly these two state counsels are racists out and out .Since Yuvanjana is married to a foreigner , in order to suppress this fact , by trying to masquerade as a patriotic national he has lost his natural balance and fallen into a most racial cesspit.
In the circumstances ,it is learnt that by citing racism stoking stupid reprehensible recommendations going beyond even the amendments stipulated by the supreme court decision to the proposed 19th amendment , despicable and disastrous attempts are being made to stifle and stymie the transfer of the executive powers presently centralized in one individual to the parliament and the independent commissions.

Please do not underestimate the responsibility lies with AG. These top professionals go by the rule and not aligned to political choices like Mohan Pieris. Blaming these high caliber professionals in gossip columns just because the politicians are not within the reach of getting their political aspirations fulfilled is unacceptable.
