No confidence motion signed twice by members is invalid in law and should therefore be rejected – Minister S .B .Dissanayake

(Lanka-e-News -06.June.2015, 11.30PM)   ‘The no confidence motion handed over to the secretary of parliament yesterday by a group of UPFA MPs, is not a valid legal document , and therefore should be rejected ,’ said , minister S.B. Dissanayake

The minister making a special statement to Lanka e news pointed out if a group of MPs have placed signatures  for  the motion at several places more than once  , obviously it is illegal. Hence , the Parliamentary secretary should reject this motion in toto , he added.

The minister then went on to say , the book titled’ think on these lines too to rescue the party ‘ of his had been dismissed by Susil Premajayantha as a piece of ‘scurrilous literature.’ The minister lamented that such a remark of Premajayantha is wrong , for that book was written with the motive to rescue the party and to unite it. Moreover this was printed and published by the Presidential printing division , the minster pinpointed. If Susil Premajayantha describes such a publication as scurrilous literature , his words and thoughts are running  counter to the unity of the party , the minister observed.

Answering our  queries whether he is to be appointed as the secretary of the UPFA , the minister said , he has no such aspirations , and via such an appointment the disunity in the party can be further aggravated.
