Mahinda will not be appointed as P.M. candidate , and the UPFA led SLFP has no P.M. candidate- Presidential media communique

(Lanka-e-News- 30.June.2015, 10.30PM) The deposed people discarded Medamulana Mahinda Rajapakse will neither be appointed as the prime ministerial candidate nor will he be nominated as the candidate for  the prime minister post by the SLFP led by the UPFA ,  president Maithripala Sirisena has decided . In a communique issued by the presidential media  this evening he had clearly announced  this . 

The communique that should have been issued by the president as the chairman of SLFP , being released by the president’s media division purporting to be  issued by the president is in breach of State protocol and accepted norms. Be that as it may ,  the president’s media had issued this communique which is appended  herein.

Special communique  on SLFP nominations

The selection of candidates for the forthcoming parlaimentary elections has commenced and the  selection of candidates for all districts is to be concluded by this Friday the 3 rd. 

Interviews are being conducted at the SLFP headquarters pertaining to the nominations for selection of candidates.Meanwhile , nobody among the SLFP team of candidates has been named as the prime ministerial candidate , and the SLFP chairman Maithripala Sirisena has not arrived at any agreement regarding the prime ministerial candidate.

If the SLFP led by the UPFA wins at the elections ,the prime minister will be appointed after the general elections based on the views of the members who have been elected. Hence , we wish to notify that the SLFP chairman Maithripala Sirisena has not accepted  ex president Mahinda Rajapakse as a prime ministerial candidate nor made any such announcement .
