UPFA main office sealed..! Forged letter requesting to give Mahinda P.M. post released to media

(Lanka-e-News - 15.Aug.2015, 8.00PM) Following  the expulsion  of Susil Premajayantha  from the post of general secretary of the UPFA and party membership , the UPFA office has been sealed by UPFA president Maithipala Sirisena, after chasing out the pro Mahinda Rajapakse group who were in it.

This drastic action had to be taken by the president Maithripala Sirisena because , after his letter sent to Mahinda Rajapakse yesterday where it was mentioned some names of the party members who are suitable for post of prime minister (P.M.)  ,  a counterfeit letter was released to the media purportedly by the group named in Maithripala’s letter  as suitable for P.M.post , in which spurious letter this group is supposedly saying  ‘we do not want P.M. post ,give that to Mahinda Rajapakse,’ whereas in fact this group had not signed such a letter.

In the letter sent to Mahinda on 13th , Maithripala Sirisena had named Susil Premajayantha , Anura Yapa , Nimal Siripala , Chamal Rajapakse, A.H.M. Fowzie, Athauda Seneviratne and John Seneviratne  as seniors and with foresight who can take up  the role of prime minister .. Hence , in the letter he had requested Mahinda Rajapakse to keep himself out of it without  obstructing them , and allow them to carry out the duties of a P.M.when  the need arises.

Yet , pro Mahinda group that was  holding on to the UPFA office , after preparing a bogus letter with the names of the P.M.candidates mentioned by Maithripala (except that of Fowzie) had publicised this bogus letter urging that Mahinda Rajapakse be appointed as P.M.

Later when this racket was probed into , it had been discovered signatures of many including Nimal Siripala De Silva had been forged by pasting photocopies of those signatures , and again taking photocopies thereof to give the impression they are not fake.

It is well to recall that a group of the UPFA office during the run up to the presidential elections of 8 th January 2015 , similarly prepared a forged photocopy agreement bearing signatures of Maithripala  and Ranil Wickremesinghe, and gave publicity to it through Tissa Attanayake. Finally , latter had to be in remand custody over it . Tissa is now out on bail.

Finally ,  the pro Maithripala group has taken  prompt action and sealed the SLFP office turning out forged documents.

Meanwhile , Mahinda has given a reply to Maithripala ‘s letter . His reply furnishes no answer to any of the charges mounted against Mahinda by Maithripala . It only says , ‘your charges I repudiate’ without citing any valid grounds. Naturally this letter  therefore is as short as is  hollow.

The forged letter prepared by UPFA office , and Mahinda’s  reply are herein

The question arises whether the people responsible for this type of crime - forgery - should find a place in the national government to be formed.
