(Lanka-e-news- 13.Sep.2015, 10.30PM) A senior UNP fair sex politico , Bernadine Rose Senanayake alias Rosie Senanayake , who contested the last general election but could not poll the necessary preferential votes for a parliamentary seat was appointed as the official spokesperson of the prime minister (P.M.). In addition, she takes over as the second in command of the P.M.’s secretariat . This is the first time in the history of Sri Lanka , a member of the fair sex has been appointed as an official spokesperson for a head of a government.
Rosie Senanayake is proficient in two languages and very fluent in both. She won the Mrs. World title in the beauty pageant during her youthful days . She has special experience in the sphere as a promoter of SL’s image internationally. She was the SL High commissioner to Malaysia , and a representative of the UN population fund . Under the 100 days interim government she was the State minister of children’s affairs .
Political experts are of the view that Rosie could not poll the necessary preferential votes at the last general election because she was foolishly licking the stale sambar (gravy) plate of Kili Maharaja and his media . Incidentally , because the people knew what amouint of damage Kili Maharaja did to the UNP, many of the UNP politicos who were inflated and promoted by Kili Maharaja media met their waterloo at the general elections for the people totally rejected those politicos despite being UNP candidates.

She has done nothing for the people nor the country that is visible, hence not getting the required preferential votes. Though she claims she accepts the people's verdict she has asked the Election Commissioner for a recount, this goes to show that she is desperate for a Ministerial Post but has not done enough. Happy to see people like Dr Harsha and Eran being given elected, they can contribute a lot to the country.
