3 MPs take oaths: Two are defeated candidates

(Lanka-e-News -24.Sep.2015, 5.30PM) Two more defeated parliamentarians took oaths on the 23 rd  as M.P.s.On e of them is the  UPFA defeated Badulla district  candidate former minister for sugar , Lakshman Seneviratne

The UPFA lost all its  seats in Badulla , and Chamara Sampath Dassanayake of the UPFA who was elected in Badulla , at president’s request resigned and went back to Uva provincial council to be sworn in as  chief minister. 

Lakshman Seneviratne was  appointed as M.P. to fill that vacancy.

The other defeated candidate who took oaths is , Bimal Ratnayake  J.V.P.

Ratnayake filled the vacancy that arose following the resignation of  Sarathchandra Mayadunne the national list JVP M.P.  Ratnayake was appointed as the JVP national list M.P. It is noteworthy that Ratnayake is another defeated M.P.

Along with them another M.P took oaths  on 23 rd  before speaker Karu Jayasuriya. He is UNP M.P. Palitha Thevaraperuma . He could not take his oaths earlier because he did  not attend the parliamentary sessions consequent upon his son’s death.
