(Lanka-e-News -18.Oct.2015, 5.11PM) A number of skeletal remains have been discovered at Thendukalam , Aryalai, Jaffna in an abandoned garden , according to the police media spokesman’s office. The latter revealed that after the remains were produced before the district judge, Jaffna , the police were ordered to produce a report on its investigations into it.
It is TNA ex M.P. for Jaffna district ,Suresh Premachandran who had made the complaint to the police in this connection. When he was queried on how he received this information , he said , a resident of the area passed the information to him ,and he went to the venue and saw them.
A variety of slippers , a comb , women’s clothes etc. were among the skeletal remains , which is a clear index that they are remains of women. The ex M.P said , as there is no possibility for dead bodies to be carried to that place where the remains are , it is his belief some group had killed the women , brought their remains there and buried them.
Neither the ex M.P. nor the police had been able to say with certainty the remains discovered are those of how many individuals .
The Jaffna police are conducting investigations , the police media spokesman’s office revealed.
