Kili Maharaja is the robber of priceless paintings of David Paynter ! – Maithri goes out of the way to save bosom pal.

(Lanka-e-News- 23.Nov.2015, 11.30PM) Sri Lanka is famous for producing many world renowned artistes and artists. David Paynter (1900-1975) is one among them. He was  an artist of rare talent.  His father was born in Britain , while his mother was Sri Lanka born - from the South. Paynter’s immensity of fame can be gauged  by the fact that it was Paynter who was invited by Jawarhalal Nehru , the first prime minister of India to draw his official portrait.

Even Mahatma Gandhi got Paynter to draw his portrait . These drawings are still in the Indian Rashtrapathy Bawan preserved and un-spoilt in all its glitter. A number of such priceless drawings of Paynter, in the past called as Heywood were  preserved  in the faculty of fine arts of the Colombo University in all its pristine glory . However during the last phase of the Rajapakse regime that  robbed even the ancient sword in the Museum , these paintings went missing. As always with that regime , nothing lost were  found , nor were those who committed the robbery apprehended.

Recently , these priceless precious paintings were found hidden in the residence of Kili Raja Mahendran alias Kili Maharaja the Sirasa media chain owner

It is learnt that Maithripala Sirisena the bosom pal of this crooked Kili Maharaja is moving heaven and earth to safeguard the latter , regardless of national interests and the grave criminal nature of this offence. Already complaints have been received by the CID and FCID in connection with this monumental robbery , yet Maithripala Sirisena is exerting pressures  to save his crooked crony cum  criminal.

In the civilized world this type of robbery of precious priceless assets of the country is considered as a more heinous crime than  even heroin , and such rogues  are liable to  maximum punishment .
