(Lanka-e-News -25.Dec.2015, 11.45PM) The verdict delivered on the Sri Lankan woman in Saudi Arabia wsentencing her to death by stoning was commuted to an ordinary jail sentence because of the initiatives taken on time and the intelligent approach of the ministry of foreign affairs and ministry of foreign employment of Sri Lanka.
After the Saudi court examining the petition on 22 nd submitted on behalf of the Sri Lankan woman , this clemency was granted . The deputy minister of foreign affairs Dr. Harsha de Silva and minister of foreign employment Ms. Thalatha Atukorale revealed this at a media briefing on 23rd december.
An appeal was made to the highest court for maximum clemency and against the death sentence by stoning delivered by a Saudi district court on the Sri Lankan woman charged with committing adultery .A team of Lankan lawyers visited Saudi Arabia , and after they enlisted the front line lawyers of Saudi Arabia , this decision to grant clemency to the accused was taken at State level .
It is significant to note all the expenditure in this regard was met by the legal division of the SL ministry of foreign affairs. Moreover , the government of good governance lived up to its name by keeping the name of the accused secret , and it is noteworthy that the two ministries which successfully moved in this matter are headed by UNP ministers .
Had these same intelligent and diplomatic measures been taken in the case of helpless and hapless Rizana under the previous regime , she too could have been saved . Instead the ex foreign mister Dilan Perera made a hash of it that time. Ruthlessly casting aside Rizana’s trauma and subordinating national interests the ex foreign minister Dilan Perera instead of spearheading the campaign to rescue the poor girl , undertook unnecessary tours abroad wasting country’s funds to sleep with sluts , whereby he made a hash of Rizana’s case .
This same Dilan Perera the ex minister of foreign affairs who muddled up Rizana’s case earlier on and behaved like a stray barking dog on the pavement under the Rajapakse regime ,convening a media briefing on behalf of the SLFP yesterday , castigated minister Kabeer Hashim , the UNP secretary , over the justifiable and truthful allegation made by the latter that capitalism during the Rajapakse era was relegated to the latrine.
Dilan who acquired a notoriety while he was the foreign minister as the most bungling , bluffing and blabbering minister said, ‘ there was a time when the UNP mixed up the kitchen with the latrine. It is the budget 2016 that was made into a latrine. But it was the SLFP faction , that is ‘us of the coalition government who saved it,’ he noted.
Based on the outrageous statements of Dilan who has a rare but abominable ability to use every stinking orifice on his body to make such utterances , it is evident Maithripala Sirisena who became president on the opposition votes led by the UNP invited Dilan the worthless useless rabid dog and gave him a ministerial post through the national list actually to use this rabid dog to bite those whom he wished to make his victims. If Maithripala truly wished to reform the SLFP, and give it a new civilized dimension that was destroyed by the Rajapakses , he would not have taken political discards and scoundrels like Dilan into his fold.
This is the same political discard Dilan who told a deliberate and dangerous lie in parliament that ‘Rizana is alive , and we shall save her’ even after she was dead at that time when he was the minister. In other words he is a minister who irresponsibly and uncaringly made a joke of a poor child ‘s life . It is this same notorious villain who spoke yesterday as though , Mahinda Rajapakse and Maithripala Sirisena together have made a great contribution to the country. From this statement of Dilan the hired rabid dog of Maithripala , it can be gauged , in what direction the new political journey of the SLFP leader is heading.
This rabid dog hired by Maithripala to bark and bite said, the demonic open economy of the UNP was made humane by them when it is a stark glaring incontrovertible fact that it was the corrupt, crooked and criminal Alliance that plunged the country into doom and gloom through gobbling up illicit commissions ranging up to 2000 % ; committing extortions (even Deshamanya businessmen put in jail was also an extortion victim ) ;abductions and disappearances of innocent citizens in thousands via white Vans ; and robbing the ancient swords from the Museum throughout the 9 years of its rule , and drowning the country in a sea of irredeemable debts.
Maithripala who deserted the party after knowing better about the so called ‘humaneness’ of the Rajapakses then , has now forgotten all the past , when using this rabid dog to bite those who lent a hand to him to be installed as a president.
Sirisena through Hambantota Mahinda Amaraweera a stooge of his said day before yesterday , UNP leaders are being met in the nights by those who are protesting against the government. And yesterday through Dilan Perera another despicable stooge , he targeted the UNP leaders and slated them . Indeed ,‘Maithripala Sirisena is picking up stones on the sly for a second hopper clout’ political analysts opine.
