(Lanka-e-News -02.April.2016, 11.45PM) Kumar Gunaratnam alias R.M.Dayal alias Noel Mudalige alias Kumara Mahathaya who was sentenced to one year in jail for violating Visa regulations, instead of filing an appeal against the court verdict in a higher court has sent his demonic and moronic followers to the Immigration and Emigration department yesterday noon , and attacked it . They have caused damage to State property after gaining entry by breaking open the doors.
A gang of about 200 violence prone hooligans have forcibly entered the department by breaking open its doors brushing aside the police.
In this gangster group of Kumar Gunaratnam were Ajith Kumara M.P. and Duminda Nagamuwa M.P. Following a clash with the police three members of the group including Ajith Kumara were injured , and they were hospitalized.
Unbelievably , not one member of this group that caused damage to government property , obstructed the performance of duties of the employees of the Immgration and emigration department and committed other heinous offences , had been arrested so far .
It was Kumar Gunaratnam and none else who asked for Australian citizenship .Hence ,there is no reason to believe that Gunaratnam does not know his citizenship in his own country is abrogated when he obtains citizenship in a foreign country. Hence it is he who should request dual citizenship, but granting citizenship or not is the right vested in that country.
Nobody can oppose that. There is also no ground to assume that he does not know that when he enters the country as a foreign citizen ,before an visa is issued ,extended or is not extended , it is his duty for him to go to the country where he obtained the foreign citizenship obtain the visa and return .Nobody is empowered to act illegally or trespass on the laws.It is natural and normal in any country to serve jail sentence on an individual who stays without a valid visa..
In the circumstances , just because Gunaratnam has about 4 to 5 thousand followers (devil’s disciples) , he cannot use them to engage in violence and terrorise a society , when the legitimate course of action should be filing an appeal in court. Nobody can be permitted to terrorise a society or behave unlawfully.
By this incident , it is very evident , and any society can gauge what amount of damage , violence and sufferings such a criminal devilish individual like Kumar Gunaratnam can inflict on society , who during the 1988-89 insurgency , ruthlessly murdered innocent citizens for the simple reason they watched TVs within their own premises allegedly flouting the ‘ laws’ introduced by him when this criminal was a law unto himself at that time.
