Mahinda, Namal, Weerawansa bolt !
(Lanka-e-News -09.June.2016, 11.30PM) The no confidence motion that was tabled in parliament today against finance minister Ravi Karunanayake by the pro MaRa den of thieves was defeated for the second time.
145 voted in favor of Ravi Karunanayake against the motion while the pro Mara crooked group could only secure 51 votes which included the 4 votes of the JVP’s Anura, Vijitha and the two other defeated but JVP appointed candidates Bimal and Sunil . The four JVP MPs voting with the Mara den of thieves is something they must themselves feel ashamed of. Nalinda Jayatissa of the JVP was not present .If the JVP had any shame and a desire to safeguard its reputation ( if it had any) the JVP members could have abstained from voting , instead of abjectly aligning with the despicable and discarded MaRa group.
28 MPs were not present.. John Seneviratne the M.P. who is vociferously insistent on making Gotabaya the second in command of the SLFP was not present at the time of voting.
With the no confidence motion being defeated with a majority of 94 votes , the government won by more than a two third majority.
The most intriguing and noteworthy feature of this motion was , Kurunegala district M.P. Mahinda Rajapakse , Namal Rajapakse and even Wimal Weerawansa refraining form signing this no confidence motion . Chamal Rajapakse signed it.
Namal and Weerawansa did not sign the motion but voted in favor of the no confidence motion . Mahinda of course kept away.
Previously too the pro MaRa group brought a no confidence motion against Ravi , but when the budget was passed with a two third majority at the same time , the no confidence motion fizzled out. This is the second time the motion was tabled. This time it was Dinesh who spoke when tabling the no confidence motion .
Yesterday a few moments before the no confidence motion was taken for debate , the Parliament audio system went out of order and the debate had to be postponed until today. The pro MaRa group of crooks said , the government fearing it would lose had wantonly damaged the equipments. These crooks who are well noted for robbing were proved today as notorious liars too after they were defeated convincingly when the voting was carried out. They learnt a lesson of their life time for losing their sense of proportions .
The hidden objective of this MaRa crooked group was to get back some MPs who are with the group of SLFP parliamentraians. But that foundered on the rocks. The JVP providing props to the pro MaRa crooked group with a different political motive was the joke of the century. The TNA which fathomed the situation abstained from voting. When the no confidence motion was being taken up , president Maithripala Siisena was present in Parliament to ensure the SLFP MPs voted in support of Ravi.
Ravi and Rajitha the Cabinet spokesman who addressed a media briefing after the voting was over said , this was a clear victory demonstrating further the defeat of the moribund barbaric groups , and a clear victory in favor of government’s concepts.
