Udayanga’s absconding comes to an end; summons issued – Interpol to take over if he continues to hide..!

(Lanka-e-News -09.June.2016, 11.30PM)   Sunday Leader newspaper Editor Lasantha Wickremetunge was allegedly  murdered by Gotabaya Rajapakse because Lasantha exposed the financial fraud that took place during the  purchase of four MiG 27 jets for  the Sri Lanka Air Force. The bosom pal of his and who played a key role  in that corrupt deal was Udayanga Weeratunge , a former ambassador who is now in hiding overseas. Udayanga is  also a relative of the Rajapakses.

yesterday (08) , the court delivered an order that Udayanga Weeratunge shall be present at  the Fort magistrate court  on 15 th  July to record a statement  in connection with the colossal  MiG fraud which is being investigated by the FCID.

Through this fraudulent MiG deal transacted in 2006 , the Rajapakses have defrauded in a sum of Rs. 372 million. Udayanga who is a main respondent in this case is in hiding overseas without facing the investigations . However , whenever Mahinda Rajapakse toured overseas , Udayanga had made his appearance  with Mahinda in several foreign countries. Thereafter he disappears and communicates by e mail .

Following the order delivered by court today , a warrant can be issued to enable the Interpol to arrest Udayanga , after which his hide and seek game will come to an end.

After  Lasantha Wickremetunge exposing  this fraud for the first time , Gotabaya obtained a most  intriguing order from the Mt. Lavinia court to restrain the publication of information regarding frauds. One month later Lasantha was most brutally killed in broad daylight on the main road.
