Dep. Minister Thevaraperuma who cannot be purified even by decanting a hundred times arrested !

(Lanka-e-News -06.July.2016, 11.45PM) The Deputy Minister of Cultural affairs , Palitha Thevaraperuma who cannot be purified by decantation even a hundred times , was arrested along with three others by the Megahathenne Police.

This was a sequel to a complaint made by the School Principal and teachers of the Meegahathenne Primary school  to the Police after Thevaraperuma attempted to commit suicide by hanging himself by tying his neck to the ceiling fan in the room of the Principal. 

Thevaraperuma who recently entered the School forcibly along with some parents to demand the admission of ten children, made this suicide attempt after assaulting the  School Principal .

Based on the complaint , the nine  mothers who forcibly entered the School were also arrested by the Meegahathenne Police .After they were produced before the magistrate Vasantha Kosala Senadheera , they were remanded until the 7 th.

Thevaraperuma who was taking treatment at the Coombo Private hospital upon hearing of the incident had got himself discharged . He had then arrived at the Magistrate court along with the discharge record today (5) at about 3.30 p.m.by which time the courts have concluded sessions. Later he was arrested by the Police.

Meanwhile the Lanka Teachers service union has complained about this misconduct to the IGP.

In the complaint it is mentioned that Thevaraperuma was assisted by the police officers who entered the School  along with him and the thugs , and there is evidence in support . In connection with all the misconduct stated hereunder , the police officers  extended support, the report adds.

1.Forcibly entering  the School premises
2.Damaging School property
3.Frightening the children and posing death threats .
4.Posing death threats to the academic staff  and the parents.
5.Making entries in the School records by force. 
6.Launching brutal assault on the Principal 

In any case , it is to be noted the UNP administration has not taken any disciplinary action  against the uncultured and uncouth conduct of its deputy  minister of Cultural affairs .
