(Lanka-e-News -05.Dec.2025, 11.10 PM) The Sri Lanka Muslim Cultural Centre (SLMCC) Harrow, in collaboration with the Council of Sri Lankan Muslim Organisations (COSMOS UK), held special Duas after Jumm‘ah prayers on Friday, 5 December 2025, invoking blessings, protection, and relief for the victims of the devastating Ditwa Cyclone, widespread flooding, and landslides across Sri Lanka.
This religious observance was organised in response to a request from the High Commission of Sri Lanka in London, encouraging faith institutions to collectively pray for the affected families and demonstrate solidarity during this national tragedy.
The programme included heartfelt prayers for those who lost their lives, those injured or displaced, and for the swift recovery and rebuilding of affected communities. Worshippers joined together to ask for healing, resilience, and mercy for all those impacted by the disaster.
In addition to the prayer gathering, SLMCC Harrow and COSMOS UK conducted an awareness and fundraising initiative under the Help Sri Lanka Project, aimed at supporting urgent humanitarian needs, including shelter, food, medical assistance, and rebuilding efforts.
COSMOS UK extends its sincere gratitude to all community members who attended, prayed, and generously contributed. We particularly thank the Trustees and members of SLMCC – Harrow for organising the observance and mobilising support within a short period of time.
