The Bribery Commission, while presenting the suspect named Mohamed Mohideen Sapras Nawaz to court in connection with the alleged bribery of the suspect Dematagoda Ruwan, a well-known drug trafficker who was arrested for making illegal money, stated that former MP R. Duminda Silva will also be named as a suspect in the case before Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama.

Accordingly, the Bribery Commission had requested the court today to issue an appropriate order to obtain a statement from Duminda Silva in prison regarding this bribery incident.

The Magistrate's Court, which considered the request, ordered the Prison Superintendent to provide necessary facilities to the Bribery Commission officers to obtain statements from Duminda Silva, who is detained in prison.

The Bribery Commission informed the court that these bribes were received with the knowledge of R. Duminda Silva, who was the Chairman of the Housing Development Authority at the time of the incident.
